How To Build Artillery Ballista Amazon To Crush Your Enemies In POE 2 Dawn Of The Hunt?

Exiles, it’s been a while since Dawn Of The Hunt League was released, how are you feeling? Have you found the best build to help you dominate Wraeclast continent? If you’re still at a loss, perhaps this build guide can bring you some new inspiration!

Here, we’re going to share a powerful build we found recently and talk about how to use it to its maximum potential to help you crush the campaign, Artillery Ballista Amazon build!

About Artillery Ballista

First of all, Artillery Ballista is a totemic attack skill that requires a crossbow. This skill has been buffed in the Dawn of the Hunt League, and it now fires 3 projectiles instead of the original 1. Before this patch 0.2.0, we had to use Scattershot to assist Artillery Ballista to fire 3 projectiles, but with the arrival of this significant buff, the last big flaw of this skill has disappeared.

To be honest, before using Artillery Ballista, we used a variety of skills in battle, including Ammo Skills, Grenades, and Ripwire Ballista, but the damage still felt bad, especially against bosses. It wasn’t until we had Artillery Ballista that I started to advance rapidly in the campaign. If you are willing to invest more POE2 Divine Orbs to stack more projectiles for this skill, you will be able to enjoy a feast of fire after aiming down the target!

Huntress

For class, our first choice is Huntress, because this is a new class, who doesn’t want to try it out? But we must remind you that when you get the first weapon belonging to Huntress, Spear, in Riverbank, and start fighting monsters, you may realize that this Spear is not suitable for me.

If you encounter this situation, don’t worry, you can replace it with a crossbow and start trying different skills.

Ascendancy Class & Passives

Next, we chose Amazon as Ascendancy Class for this build. And the first two passive nodes we get are Predatory Instinct and In for the Kill.

Predatory Instinct is very powerful because it increases the damage caused by rare and unique enemies with obvious weaknesses by 50%. And when there is an enemy with obvious weaknesses in front of us, In for the Kill can also increase our movement speed by 20% and skill speed by 40%.

It is worth mentioning that in this patch, Presence has been significantly weakened, and its basic radius is now 4 meters instead of 6 meters. So, for In for the Kill to take effect, we can’t be too far away from the boss. But this requires you to be vigilant at all times, otherwise you are likely to die from the boss’s critical hit. Of course, you can also choose to buy POE 2 Currency to equip your builds with the best unique body armor to increase your tolerance, everything is according to your play style.

The third Ascendancy node we will get is Critical Strike. As we all know, Critical Strike has a very low chance to proc, and this node provides a way to gain Critical Strike chance by stacking accuracy rating.

First, we gain 5 accuracy per Dexterity. By taking Falcon Technique, our attack speed will increase by 1% for every 25 Dexterity. Then, Falcon Dive gives us a 1% attack speed increase for every 250 accuracy rating. Combined with Bullseye Support Gem, our hit value should be greatly improved.

On top of that, Amazon’s Critical Strike notable will convert 25% of the extra hit value into critical hit rate. In short, by stacking hit value, we also gain attack speed and critical hit rate.

Then, we will choose Azmeri Brew as our last Ascendancy Passive. It would be great if the health potion can provide enough mana to restore.

Of course, there are other Ascendancy that should pair well with Artillery Ballista. For example, if you’re playing Mercenary, you can pick up Gemling Legionnaire, which has a lot of useful passive nodes. But since we’re playing Huntress here, we won’t go into more detail.

Gear

Next, let’s talk about gear selection.

Since our crossbow damage is a bit low, we’re going to focus on this mod first, +4 Gem Level. Since Artillery Ballista uses its own weapon, this means local mods won’t work on it. However, Gem Level is global, so this mod is great for boosting the damage of your totems.

We plan to use a unique item with this build, either Three Dragons Solid Mask helmet or Blueflame Bracers Goldcast Cuffs gloves. Since we’re dealing fire damage, the Three Dragons Solid Mask can be used to apply shock and give us a damage buff. However, Blueflame Bracers might be more of a defensive choice, as it converts all of our fire damage into cold damage, allowing us to freeze enemies.

However, the freeze skill has been nerfed in Dawn Of The Hunt league, and it now accumulates about 48% slower on enemies. So, I’m not sure how good this one will work.

If the gloves doesn’t work well, Three Dragons Solid Mask will undoubtedly be our gear choice. What’s more, it also provides some elemental resistance, so this is a very solid helmet.

For other equipment, the main stats we need to focus on are health and resistance, and some accuracy or crit damage will be icing on the cake.

If your POE 2 Currency is well stocked, you can also use pure ES-based body armor. The reason for this is that it is difficult for us to get high health without a lot of strength or Soul Cores stacking, but ES health will become an extra layer of defense to protect us.

Passive Skill Tree

Finally, we come to Passive Skill Tree. The most important point is to complete the totem node first. To do this, we need to go a long way.

By the time we can use Artillery Ballista, we should have at least completed Watchtowers, which can +1 totem. Then Ancestral Artifice gives us another one, plus Overabundance Gem, we now have a total of 4 totems.

Then we just need to complete most of the attack speed nodes, as well as attribute bonuses, and some AOE nodes for better monster clearing and increased overlap.

That’s it for the complete guide for this Artillery Ballista Amazon build, with the bonus of this high accuracy rating gunner, you can clear all enemies on the map at the fastest speed and dominate Dawn Of The Hunt!
